Gëmt-ragë Dêtîkè (/ˈsèkɘ/ /ˈragë/ [keen] [job; career; task]) is a temperate Town located in the Ko-13nhun Zone of the Union of Engineers.

The name Gëmt-ragë Dêtîkè is derived from the Iron Elvish language, as Gëmt-ragë Dêtîkè was founded by Trêtê Tshênho, who was culturaly Iron Elven.

Climate

Gëmt-ragë Dêtîkè has a yearly average temperature of 24°C (75°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 27°C (80°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a pleasant 22°C (71°F). Gëmt-ragë Dêtîkè receives an average of 220 cm/y (86 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the summer. Gëmt-ragë Dêtîkè covers an area of nearly 6 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 2786 m (9140 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Gëmt-ragë Dêtîkè was founded durring the early 13th century in winter of the year 1236, by Trêtê Tshênho. The establishment of Gëmt-ragë Dêtîkè was only bairly constructed. The sheer number of problems with its founding were enough to make several of the backers funding Gëmt-ragë Dêtîkè's construction back out of the project. Trêtê Tshênho pushed on reguardles, and Gëmt-ragë Dêtîkè was finished, but starts off as a terible place to live.

Gëmt-ragë Dêtîkè was built using the conventions of Iron Elven durring the early 13th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Gëmt-ragë Dêtîkè is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Gëmt-ragë Dêtîkè is buildings folow an organic layout of crampt paverstone streets whihch gives the town a shape simmilar to a tree, if one views its streets from above. The town is protected by a renforced stone fence which sits atop earthwork defences, for some of the best inexpencive defences a town of Gëmt-ragë Dêtîkè's size could have. Astonishigly, the well-designed, yet cheep are in pristine condishion, as if they had just been finished before you laied eyes upon them.

A look around Gëmt-ragë Dêtîkè is like a look into a broken heart. There is no planning, no organization. Everyone here clearly goes about their own thing with little thought to anyone around them who isn’t selling something they need. It’s not malicious. Heads are hung. Eyes are empty. Something truly horrible happened here once upon a time and the town never healed.

Civic Infrastructure

Gëmt-ragë Dêtîkè has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Gëmt-ragë Dêtîkè. They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for Gëmt-ragë Dêtîkè's parks.

Gëmt-ragë Dêtîkè has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Gëmt-ragë Dêtîkè's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Gëmt-ragë Dêtîkè possesses an older civil lighting system consisting of street lamps. These lights provide nighttime illumination to most city streets.

Gëmt-ragë Dêtîkè has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Gëmt-ragë Dêtîkè's natural decorations nor waterways.

Gëmt-ragë Dêtîkè has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Gëmt-ragë Dêtîkè has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.

Gëmt-ragë Dêtîkè is home to a University which provides higher education in a variety of fields, and also serves as a research institute for those same fields.

Cultural Notes

The locals have cut a deal with some unspeakable entity, trading some form of tribute (benign of horrific) in exchange for the being’s forbearance or assistance. Outsiders may be ignorant of the bargain, or they may know that the community is in thrall but be too fearful of its master to take action against them. The creature likely serves as a protector as well as a tyrant, so the locals may be content with the deal even if it doesn’t offer any further inducement or aid.

Gëmt-ragë Dêtîkè's mayor's house was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used embraces individualism and experimentation. It emerged as a movement against traditional, classical styles and sought to make buildings dynamic and fun while breaking the rules. The style incorporated elements of previous architectural styles in exaggerated and whimsical ways. Traditional, conservative leanings were void in this era, with most scholars of architecture agreeing it was a time of “anything goes.”.
